Project Overview

The Louisville Water Company upgraded the Crescent Hill Water Treatment Plant, the city’s primary drinking water treatment facility, which supplies approximately 150 million gallons of water per day. The project included filter rehabilitation, backwash piping replacement, electrical and control system upgrades, and installation of new filter media, all while maintaining continuous plant operations. Throughout construction, the team kept the facility operating at 50% capacity, successfully coordinated filter rehabilitation, piping upgrades, and facility improvements within the active treatment plant, and reused existing hydraulic cylinders to avoid significant procurement delays caused by supply chain disruptions. These efforts enabled the team to complete critical upgrades on schedule while meeting the customer’s operational requirements.
